Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program
The Teen Pregnancy Prevention Task Force is chaired by the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Health Educator. The Task Force improves the lives of Wayne County families and ensures a better future for our youth by creating a comprehensive campaign tp reduce and prevent teen pregnancy. Sexually Transmitted Diseases: The total numbers of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea cases are useful indicators of adolescent sexual health as they are most common in adolescents.
Number of Chlamydia Cases (2018, all ages): 918
Number of Gonorrhea Cases (2018, all ages): 314
Number of HIV Reports (2018, all ages): 12
HIV reports are notable because youth ages 13-24 account for more than 1 in 5 new HIV diagnoses in the United States.
